Shell / Auto Expressions Auto Air Freshener

With overseas private label competition growing daily in the auto accessories category, Shell established "Auto Expressions", a fresh new brand presenting the opportunity to build a premium product offering while targeting a new customer base. One of the flagship products in this new brand release was Vent Fresh, an air freshener featuring a new spill proof diffusible membrane technology.

The Vent Fresh product is an innovative scented oil air freshener for the auto. Simply pull a removable tab to expose the spill proof fragrance permeable membrane, clip the unit to a vent, and adjust the fragrance intensity. The primary goal in the development of Vent Fresh was "Simplicity for the User". Clip, Pull, and Adjust were all the end user needed to know.

Although small and simple in appearance Vent Fresh development provided its share of challenges ranging from the fragrance design and compatibility, to target COG s. Vent Fresh is at the forefront of the category, representing the fusion of several innovative new membrane technologies, manufacturing processes, market research, and consumer insights. Utilizing a full arsenal of Design and Development tools, Vent Fresh production has passed 25 million units. Now that's ROI.
