Craftsman Wall Control
For Craftsman, brand communication is a critical element in the success of a product. We set out to apply Craftsman’s design language to a new garage door Control Console, and differentiate it from the Home Access category’s sea of beige boxes. The design language focused on communicating toughness, durability, and quality, all key attributes associated with the success of the Craftsman brand. The rugged good looks, bright color, huge buttons, and robust cage surrounding the LCD are more than just window dressing. The cage surrounding the LCD communicated ruggedness, while providing protection to the LCD from the random elbow and soccer ball. Large buttons allow for unencumbered use with gloved hands. And without question the bright Craftsman red body reinforces the brand, allowing for fast visual identification in cluttered locations, and fitting appropriately along with other products in the intended environment. |
